I just found this podcast via their Flickr group, listened to one of the episodes at the gym, pretty useful information. If you’re interested in learning and improving as a portrait photographer, or if you’re a photographer wanting to listen and learn about lighting techniques, I highly recommend subscribing to it.

My RRDS are 9 weeks old, APC NS are at around 14 weeks, but I rock them both so they are really 4.5 and 7 weeks old respectively. Using available light this time, but they don’t look that much different, and I skate in them every day, I guess I need to learn how to ollie to help add some crazy wear on them…

Not having an effective aperture readout is really pissing me off…
I am uneasy every time I have to reboot my server remotely, my Treo wouldn’t stop ringing if my clients’ sites are offline for an extended period of time. Yesterday I had to upgrade my kernel due to several remote and local exploits, I used Aptitude to upgrade my kernel packages and the installation script advised me to reboot ASAP as some of the kernel modules were modified. I guess I didn’t have any kernel modules that are reloaded on the fly, so my server actually worked fine without a reboot. I waited til 2am PDT to do a reboot and it magically came back up. Kudos to the Debian kernel packages maintainers. 🙂

I’m gonna bring the Evo to San Rafael Mitsubishi this Friday to get diff and tranny fluid flush, brake/clutch line flush with Motul 600, and a free oil change. I just found out my car has “free maintenance”, but it doesn’t cover fluid flush until 30k miles.
I also got a K&N drop-in air filter coming in, and I need some new front tires as they are worn down to the wear bars (again!). After that my car should be ready for the track. 😀 I should probably get some dedicated track wheels and tires, coz these Advan A046’s only last about 1-2 weekends and they’re crazy expensive.
It really sucks to be without my tools and a garage.
SRM has been highly praised at the NorCalEvo forum, and they have a “speed shop” next door that carries good stuff like WORKS products. I’ve talked to a few of the SRM guys on the phone and they were all Evo enthusiasts, and best of all, they are very mod and track-friendly.

The specialty chipmaker, whose audio decoder chips have found their way into the nerve center of Apple’s most popular iPods — including the iPod nano and fifth-generation video player — has laid off 45 employees. That’s about 14 percent of its total staff.As a result of the move, PortalPlayer expects to incur a restructuring charge of $850,000 to $950,000 in its current quarter, according to the report. But in the long run, the company figures the lay offs will save it $6 million to $7 million in expenses.

Well, I have a bit of news. Unfortunately, while it’s probably not exactly what you wanted to hear, I hope you understand just how tricky some things are to manage for a small company. Bottom line is despite our initial intent to deliver a Mac/OSX version of the SlingPlayer in Q2’06, we are moving our target to Q3’06.
Well, no Slingbox for me til Q3’06. 🙂
