Top Knots 2008, very impressive wedding shots

Check out the winning images from Top Knots 2008, “the new school of wedding photography contest”.

Somehow most my wedding clients prefer quantity over quality; they would much rather have all 8000 frames batch-converted to jpegs than 20 decent ones with 5 really good post-processed image.

dpreview posted some (poorly photographed, well they blamed the London weather) sample images from their 450D… the JP site got much better samples… oh yeah, I have a hard time deciding if the original poster was being sarcastic or not in this thread.

Flickr Leech beta is live

I like it, I’ve visiting flickrleech to check out the Interestingness stream at least once a day for years, it’s also a great way to check out anyone’s Flickr stream… The new version’s beta just came out:

I prefer the original version for its usage of square thumbnails, but found out I can get it back from the preference pane:

Canon EOS 450D/Rebel SXi fullres sample images from their jp site

Pretty darn impressive, notice though, the portrait shot used the 85/1.2L and the sports shot used a 400/2.8L IS, I don’t think a lot of 450D users would spend that kindda money on their lenses. But I think it’s cool that they used professional primes so I can really tell how good the sensor is.
