Ok, another post before I try to get more sleep. We got back to San Francisco and found out that my apartment had a pretty severe bedbugs situation. About a month ago we started getting bites from something but didn’t think much of it. We always thought it was mosquitos and what not, we also never seen anything in the bed so we didn’t suspect much. But I guess being away for 2 weeks, the bugs reproduced and they were also hungry as no one (or animal) was in the apartment. We got back and we found at least 4 adult-sized bedbugs on the bed, and a couple other baby ones. Sherry must’ve got over 15 bites the first night. It was real bad. So we had to check into a hotel for 2 days while my landlord got us some stuff to spray the mattresses and around the apartment. I did that Wed and Thu afternoon, also brought the bedding up on the roof to be under the sun for most of the days. We got back Friday and I think they are gone now, at least I got up from about 5 hours of sleep in my bed and I don’t have any bites. Let’s pray that they’re gone, or else it would really suck. We stayed at the Palomar above the Old Navy store on Market Street, we’ve stayed at one of the Kimpton hotels before and loved it. The Palomar was nice, they host wine hour from 5 to 6pm daily and we even got 40-something bucks credit for food in the “escape package”, haha. They have free in-room wifi that was pretty fast. I definitely wouldn’t mind staying there for longer if I could afford it. Due to the pesticide we asked our friend to have Bear for a few more days, we’re going down to Cupertino to pick up Bear and my Evo this morning. I got the Evo professionally detailed about a month ago but it’s dirty again, so I need to get it washed and then take some pictures to post it up for sale. I don’t drive it much at all so I should really sell it. Let me know if you or anyone you know want a badass 2005 Evo VIII MR, bone-stock, silver, with clear-bra professionally installed, LIDATEK laser jammer, and I’ll keep the Valentine One hard-wire wiring too.

SFist: When DumbPeople Look at SmartCars
LOL, ours should be here in like 2 weeks, but I have no idea when it is really gonna show up…
During our brief stay, a steady stream of people best described as “Americans” arrived in small boisterous groups with the apparent intention of mocking the innocuous FourTwos (that’s the model name) on the showroom floor — their incisive commentary included such gems as “it’s a glorified golf cart!” and “that’s retarded!” The long-suffering and apparently very, very patient sales staff offered to make appointments for test drives.

Breaking News: Undisguised 2009 Nissan GT-R:
Most of the specifications aren’t expected to be announced until Nissan’s Tokyo show press conference on October 24, but today we know that the all-wheel-drive 2009 GT-R will get a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 that produces 473 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque. It’ll drive all four wheels through a rear-mounted transaxle. The only transmission will be a GR6 dual-clutch six-speed automatic.
don’t care what they call these fancy trannies nowadays, no clutch pedal right? that sucks…
Nissan says the GT-R will accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, finish the quarter-mile in 11.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 192 mph. Base price is expected to be less than $80,000.
shit man, that sounds like fun.

I am seriously considering selling my Evo MR and getting a Vespa. Parking is a real pain and I feel like it’s a big waste that I don’t track the Evo anymore. So on my way home I stopped by the Vespa dealership to check out their inventory. Right now I’m thinking about silver or black with tan/brown seat… They also had the most gorgeous original mini cooper in the back, so I snapped a few frames of the car…
Just reserved a Smart fortwo cabriolet
So I’m not sure if the online reservation for the U.S. Smart cars has officially begun, but I’ve just put money down for one successfully here. A $99 refundable deposit for one of the first Smart fortwo. I went for a cabriolet version in yellow with black trim and black interior. It’s a bummer that these things don’t come with a clutch pedal. I’m also not sure if there is a torque converter or not, but since the deposit was refundable and it’s only $99, I reserved one. I’ve always wanted one of these. So hot, will be perfect for zooming around SF.
This is a rendered image of the yellow and black “colorway”…
Sherry and I spotted one on Mason in North Beach last weekend:

600 horsepower Corvette to arrive in 2009 | Leftlane – Car News For Enthusiasts
A limited-edition Corvette producing somewhere around 600 horsepower will arrive in summer 2009 as a 2010 model, GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz said in a new interview. “There is a distinct appetite for something beyond the Z06 in performance, beyond the Z06 in exclusivity and beyond the Z06 in price,” Lutz told Automotive News. GM has long been rumored to be working on a more powerful Corvette project known as Blue Devil, Sting Ray, Z07, or SS. Back in May, GM’s head of performance cars Tom Wallace confirmed the car was under development. Lutz’ statement is the first confirmation of a timeline for the new Vette’s introduction. At the Detroit auto show, he said GM would produce an answer to the 600-horsepower 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10. GM would “not take that lying down,” he said. Lutz said Corvette has “taken on the character of a brand” and can support several models. The current top-of-the-line Corvette is the 505 horsepower Z06, which rockets to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Chevrolet produces 3,000 Z06s annually. The new model would be even lower volume.

for kicks, built a 997GT3 online
I don’t really like the the rear bumper, or the exhaust in the middle, looks too much like a freakin Boxster… 🙂 Didn’t have to add very many options, only added metalic paint (that color looks hot, at least in the rendered version shown below), Bi-Xenons and Sport Chrono Pkg… 🙂 I don’t see a moonroof option so maybe it doens’t come with one, which is how a freaking GT3 should be!!
and no, I am pretty happy with my Evo8MR so I won’t be ordering one… I would hate to park it on the streets in SF on weekends…
