for kicks, built a 997GT3 online

I don’t really like the the rear bumper, or the exhaust in the middle, looks too much like a freakin Boxster… 🙂 Didn’t have to add very many options, only added metalic paint (that color looks hot, at least in the rendered version shown below), Bi-Xenons and Sport Chrono Pkg… 🙂 I don’t see a moonroof option so maybe it doens’t come with one, which is how a freaking GT3 should be!!

and no, I am pretty happy with my Evo8MR so I won’t be ordering one… I would hate to park it on the streets in SF on weekends…

Mac SlingPlayer review w/ screenshots

Conclusion: This first version of SlingPlayer for Mac is a very good first step in Sling Media?s venture into software on a platform other than Windows. As a relatively new Slingbox user (July 2006), I am unaware of the quality or polish of previous versions for Windows, but this Mac client offers everything the current Windows client offers. Yes it needs a little polish, but for now it should satisfy plenty of pent up demand from the Mac community, as well as open up a whole new market of users (and very loyal ones at that) to Sling Media. Hopefully, everyone will agree it was worth the wait.SlingPlayer for Mac looks to be a great piece of software and will hopefully get better and more Mac-like over time.Happy Slinging.

updated Rancilio Silvia from Chris’ Coffee

I got this newsletter from Chris’ Coffee:

First there is a NEW Rancilio Silvia on the market and Chris’ Coffee Service has them in stock as of today. The NEW Silvia has an adjustable expansion valve, different group, different drip try cover, and is POD adaptable. We will have images of the NEW Silvia up on our site by the end of the week, which will show the NEW features. If you are in the market for a Silvia we are offering a $50.00 discount with this Discount Coupon Code 5000. Simply order on line, enter the code, and receive an instant $50.00 discount on the NEW Silvia.

Now, POD adaptable? That is pretty lame, my previous cheapo KRUPS machine was POD adaptable, I even got some Illy POD to try it out, and it tasted like shit! (well actually Illy tastes like shit in general)

The adjustable expansion valve is a welcomed update, he said that grouphead was different, but didn’t say if it would be an E61-ish grouphead or not. Still no temperature or pressure gauges, or a heat exchanger, so if you’re looking to get a Silvia, then sure, wait for the new version and use that discount coupon to get 50 bucks off. But for those of us who already has one, a real upgrade would be to a machine with an E61 grouphead, a heat exchanger or dual boilers if you make milk drinks, and preferrably with a rotary pump.

Nikeplus.com is screwed up

This happened to both seoufully and me. I got off work a bit earlier and ran with Fee-Fee for about 3 miles, and then went to the gym and clocked another 3 miles, went home and sync’ed my Nano and now Nike+.com thinks I’m new to Nike+. I hope this is a temporary problem with their database, I have all the data on my Nano so there must be a way to re-send them to nikeplus.com. WTF?!

A quick look at the forums at Nike+ confirmed that we are not alone in this, so I guess this is a temporary problem…

Self Edge SF Update

Kiya posted an update on Self Edge at SuperFuture, no mentioning of a Union Special machine yet… 🙂

Self Edge Update – San Francisco…

So…

where do i start?

We here at Self Edge have been working 24/7 to bring denim heads what
they’ve been wanting; the vision of what i wanted in terms of selection
from a denim store is coming to life. We are still on track to open our
doors Wednesday, November 1 at noon.

here’s some updates on stock..

-Imperial Denim

-Sugarcanes

-Iron Heart

-Nudies

-Samurai

-Iron Army (for women only)

-Sling & Stone (for women only)

And of course non-denim brands such as MOB (most official bitches), Homeroom, Mama, BiJules, Once Upon a Time, Orisue, House33, Mighty Healthy, Diamond, aNYthing, RockersNYC, Self Edge x Homeroom, and
more…

To those who’ve emailed me in the past month or so with positive words, thank you…

To those that are inquiring about exactly which cuts we’re getting in
from a certain designer, it’s too much for us to answer those questions
at the moment because our heads are filled with hundreds of cuts and
washes and styles… We chose what we liked from every designer and we
hope that once you see what we have in stock you’ll agree. There are a
few things we’ve got that i’ve never seen any other place, come in and
check em out. The online store will be opening mid/late-november with
most of our denim stock being available online.

The opening party will take place at 6pm on November 18th at Self Edge
with J-Zone (nyc, old maid billionaires) playing his trademark style of
ignant hiphop.

things to look forward to..

-Superfuture Party, tentative date is January 6, bring your nametag

-Self Edge x Iron Army Selvedge Indigo Slim Anti-Fit Jeans

-Death from Exhaustion

Xanga should have private feeds…

Some of my friends are got Xanga blogs and I can’t do anything about it, I guess they got used to it and don’t wanna bother switching to something better, or maybe they dig the community features in there. But to me Xanga is lame, seriously lame… Anyway, they have RSS feeds for blogs, but for people who want a little privacy they can turn RSS feeds off. This is just dumb, to me, and I am probably not alone here, if a website doesn’t have feeds I just won’t visit, I seriously don’t have time to go to individual websites daily. So instead of having feeds on or off, Xanga should have private feeds, like Netflix and all the other sites out there, pretty much all it does is to map a URL that contains some unique key/hash/string to the actual feed, and add the ability to reset the URL… but of course Xanga is probably too dumb or won’t care enough to implement something like that… *sigh*…

btw, Sixapart launched Vox today, it seems pretty cool, and it’s def a better option than Xanga for the peeps who don’t wanna bother getting a domain or setting up a real blog with WordPress or Movable Type.
