Carnegie Mellon Today
Carnegie Mellon Today: Entrepreneurial Alumni
Received my Carnegie Mellon Today magazine today, the best one so far… I have to visit that PUBLIC restaurant when I’m in NYC next time… very cool concept…
N I V I » Working at a venture fund isn?t diversified enough for you?
N I V I » Working at a venture fund isn?t diversified enough for you?
New blog by yet another VC, pretty cool stuff. I took have friends who urged me to “never work at a startup”, interestingly, I joined Newisys when they had 50 people and they joined more established public companies, guess who got laid off at the end. I kept telling them there is really not true job security, so we might as well find a startup with upside potential… unless you can find the next Microsoft or Dell… hehe…
Well, I guess SigmaTel, my current employer, isn’t exactly a startup anymore, but still it had only been public for a couple of months at the time I signed… We’ll see how the stocks behave in the next several years… HEHE… I do miss being in a smaller startup though, it was so much fun to know every single employees’ name…
photographing peacocks
So like I said in my last post, I had a couple of hours to spare while waiting for Sherry this afternoon. I had my photo gears with me in the MINI, so I went to Mansfield’s Park again to photograph some peacocks. Last time I went most of the shots were either out of focus or got some camera shakes, sloppy photographer, didn’t pay much attention to the inverse rule with shutter speed and focal length… Plus the 70-200/2.8L at 200 with my camera is actually 320, so at least 1/320 to be safe…
This time I made sure the technical stuff were covered, here’s one of the pics:

Economist.com | The future of journalism
This blog is definitely one of those blogs that points to more traditional media. Well, I point to other blogs mostly actually… Interesting article, I actually got to read the Economist almost cover to cover today at the Draughthouse while waiting for Sherry to get done with her ad project meeting…

UPDATE: found it, I think it might’ve got in via phpnuke…
I posted to bugtraq and people there are VERY helpful! Thanks a lot guys… I have turned on mod_security with Apache and I’m gonna go over the logs to see where exactly it came from in a little while…

Denali MemCon
I’m at the Barton Creek Country Club for Denali’s MemCon, I can’t believe they don’t have WiFi setup here. I bet they decided not to provide WiFi on purpose…
Good thing ecto supports offline blogging…
Tiger
So OS X Tiger is scheduled to be released tomorrow, I can’t wait to upgrade to it. Dashboard looks damn cool, CoreImage and CoreVideo look like fun to code with. Dashboard and the new search thinggie in Tiger looks pretty close to what QuickSilver (QS) does, so I’m not real sure if I’d still need QS. I’m also interested in how Safari works with RSS.
Feel free to use the following link to order Tiger from Amazon:
