my iTunes Registry page… this site is a bit buggy, but the idea is cool… 🙂
People are crazy about the iPod Nano, everyone either owns one already or wants one badly. If not, he or she probably owns or wants the bigger iPod. seoulfully, a recent law school grad awaiting his bar results, showed how he wanted one desperately in an e-mail he sent me:
man, i get my bar results friday! so NERVOUS!!! if i pass, my first post license paycheck, i’m not paying bills, i’m not buying furniture, i’m getting a nano!
I should’ve bought more AAPL.
Amazing, they even got their own Wikipedia entry.
Just got this in my mailbox:
Dear Andrew Ng,
I am glad to inform you that Martin Fields Overlay Plus Screen Protector (iPod 5G Video) has arrived.
You may purchase this item on our website www.MartinFields.com/US
Hope to see you soon!
Just got my InvisibleShield for my iPod in the mail, that was quick, wasn’t expecting it til later this week. This is pretty much the clear bra stuff I have on my Evo and Sherry’s MINI, well, I had VentureSheild, this is probably the 3M stuff. The guys at InvisibleShield must be doing well, I can get a full sheet of this stuff for like $20 myself, but I’ve installed pre-cut 3M headlight kit on the MINI, I’m definitely not skilled enough to use bulk film… With a pattern-cutting machine, and a little bit of mechanical engineering/CAD skills, it’s prolly not all that difficult to create the patterns and cut the kits…
Nice, just did this, all my album arts are pretty big, that’s why my 5g iPod was a bit slow… After disabling and re-enabling iPod album arts my new iPod’s interface is much smoother and faster! 🙂
So you bought one of the new 5G video iPods and have loaded it up with all your music and album art. But you notice that the interface is much more sluggish than previous generation iPods! Scrolling through your list of songs is significantly slower and gameplay when playing the “brick” and “parachute” games with a song going in the background is unacceptable! Fortunately, there’s a fix. It has to do with your album art not being optimized on the iPod. Here’s how to fix it.
1) Plug your iPod into your computer and open iTunes Preferences.
2) In the iPod section of the preferences, turn off the “Album Art” option.
3) Disconnect your iPod and reconnect it to update the iPod.
4) Now go back to the Preferences and re-enable the “Album Art” option.
5) You’ll see iTunes begin to optimize the album art related to your songs. This could take several minutes depending on how much album art you have in your iTunes database.
When you’re all done, the 5G iPod’s interface should be nice and snappy again.
I just blogged about this not too long ago, was on IM with a friend at SigmaTel and turned out they released the 3600 yesterday…
It sounds pretty impressive:
Compared to current high capacity flash-based players on the market, the SigmaTel STMP3600 provides up to an 80% increase in battery life and smaller form factor design capabilities through the integration of battery recharge, power management, audio codec, and flash controller on a single chip solution. With support for all major audio codecs including MP3, Windows Media Audio, AAC, and OGG Vorbis, the STMP3600 offers industry-leading audio quality (based on tests using Rhode and Schwarz Audio Analyzer technology). In addition to world class audio, the STMP3600 will support MPEG4, H.264 and WMV9 video codecs at varying resolutions and bit rates.
Their stocks didn’t move much though, everybody knows it’s too late, they missed huge opportunities like the iPod Nano… oh well…
Just pre-ordered all 6 Jay Chou CDs from YesAsia… I think I will need a 100GB iPod very soon…
It’s interesting that pretty much ALL CHINESE people know ALL of his songs, yet I don’t know anyone who has any real copies of his CDs… They all download them illegally… So wrong… Now, when are we going to have iTMS Taiwan?
